LADY A

Lady A is an American country music group that was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2006. The band consists of three members: Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood. They are known for their unique blend of country, pop, and rock music, and have released several hit albums and singles over the years.

Lady A released their debut album, “Lady Antebellum,” in 2008, which included hit songs like “Love Don’t Live Here” and “I Run to You.” Their follow-up album, “Need You Now,” was released in 2010 and became a massive commercial success, selling over 7 million copies worldwide. The title track, “Need You Now,” won four Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

Lady A has continued to release successful albums and singles, including “Golden” (2013), “747” (2014), and “Heart Break” (2017). Some of their other hit songs include “Just a Kiss,” “Downtown,” and “Bartender.”

In June 2020, the band announced that they would be changing their name from Lady Antebellum to Lady A, due to the negative connotations associated with the word “antebellum,” which refers to the period before the American Civil War when slavery was legal in the United States.
